Matching Jackets for Daphne and her bestie 👯‍♀️ …these were an absolute pleasure to sew. I started cutting these out in the first few days of maternity leave, and was actually sewing some of the seams while in early labour. I had intended to machine sew the binding on and finish it by hand on holiday, but forgot to attach it on the machine before leaving, so ended up doing all of the binding by hand. This was actually the most perfect, easy, mindless activity for those early post-partum hazy days! There was also something about the squishy quilted texture of the fabrics and the lovely colours that just made it a joy to pick up and complete a few stitches here and there. Another satisfying aspect was that all the fabric came from the op shop (binding was made from scraps left over from my Tamarack).
