Luke, Brett and Bobbi are in Sydney this week at the Smart Energy Council Conference.

Itโ€™s an opportunity to see new products and hear whatโ€™s coming. This dude though, he was cool. And how cute is his mate.

WARNING - Door to door sales for solar/battery - SAY NO

We are hearing that there are people again trying to sell solar and batteries door to door throughout the North East and Southern NSW.

A few things to be aware of. You don't want to touch anything that does NOT have the government rebates offered. This would make me question the quality of the product if they are not offering ALL possible Government rebates.

Vic's is called the Solar Homes Rebate program $1400 and a possible $1400 interest free loan. It is ILLEGAL to offer this rebate in Victoria by unsolicited sales - door knocking/phone calls.

Then there is a federal solar rebate called an STC and a battery rebate called a BSTC.

ALL rebates should be clearly stated on any quotes you receive.

The BSTC (battery rebate) is dropping in value 1 May. IT IS NOT ENDING. So please be careful. Like the old sayings go, if it sounds too good to be true...... or Poor man pays twice - this is very sadly one we hear often in our industry.

The Victorian Government has done great things to ban these sales methods, sadly the Federal Government has not done the same. If you feel strongly about this contact your local members office (Indi - Helen Haines MP Farrar - lets see in a months time who that will be or the Ministers office Chris Bowen MP.

We are sick of seeing people taken advantage of, and certainly in these hard economic times.
