Students in our Gen Z group at United World College in Mostar have started a fundraiser to support the Red Cross Ukraine.

The devastating consequences of the Russian invasion undermine the values of peace, democracy, and tolerance which UWC strives to foster internationally. In the midst of a grave humanitarian crisis, Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure are constantly exposed to shelling and missile strikes. Bombed orphanage in Vorzel and kindergarten in Okhtyrka, burning oil depot in Vasylkiv and gas pipeline in Kharkiv, struck emergency car, civil housings, and other horrifying implications of war call us for action. The international community responded with economic restrictions, but more must be done to assist civilians on the ground to safety. As a UWC community with international connections, the strength of our movement can make a difference. If we use our energy as a collective to spread this fundraiser, we have the power to change lives.
All funds collected will be donated to Red Cross Ukraine. The non-profit organization will focus on helping displaced Ukrainians get to safety as well as providing critical medical care, food, and hygiene items. The Red Cross obeys international humanitarian law and has responded to crises for over 150 years, earning the group credibility and trust to go above and beyond in caring for those who need it most.
With the values of the UWC Movement guiding our reaction to this horrifying event, we hope to use our network and platform to help in any way we can. We implore you to do the same and share this link. Please continue to contribute and educate yourself on the situation.
