On Monday, students of the VA323 Illustration Studio course, led by Asst. Dženeta Valjevac, had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture by Rukiye Sündüz Gani, Experience and Brand Communication Strategist at Turkish Airlines. 🌟
The lecture, titled “Finding Your Creative Philosophy,” offered students an insightful perspective on creativity, personal growth, and the development of a professional mindset in the creative industry.
Rukiye also shared the stories behind several Turkish Airlines projects and campaigns, giving students a closer look at the relationship between branding, storytelling, and creative strategy. As an alumna connected to the VACD community through a second generation of graduates, her experience and perspective carried a special meaning for our students.
We thank Rukiye for sharing her knowledge, experience, and inspiring advice with our students! 😊🥳

🎨✏️ This week, students of the Information Graphic Design course, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Emir Hambo, had the opportunity to attend an inspiring guest lecture and workshop led by illustrator and infographic designer Emir Isović.
During the lecture, Mr. Isović shared insights into his creative journey and professional practice, discussing the artistic and conceptual processes behind his illustrations and infographic projects. Students were introduced to the importance of storytelling, research, visual hierarchy, and audience engagement in the development of effective visual communication and information design.
A significant part of the discussion focused on contemporary self-publishing opportunities and the ways designers and illustrators today can independently publish, distribute, and promote their work through digital platforms and alternative publishing models. Students gained valuable perspectives on navigating the creative industry while building an authentic personal voice and professional identity.
The lecture concluded with an interactive workshop, where Mr. Emir collaborated directly with students on creating an infographic map titled “My Childhood.” Through this collaborative exercise, students explored how personal memories, emotions, locations, and experiences can be translated into compelling visual narratives and infographic storytelling formats.
The workshop encouraged experimentation, creativity, and reflection, while also demonstrating how infographic design can move beyond pure data visualization into more personal and emotional forms of communication.
We sincerely thank Mr. Emir Isović for visiting our students, sharing his experience, and contributing to an engaging and inspiring learning experience for the VACD community. 😊
