Got the bellow email from BASIS today! After paying yearly membership fees!!!
Could someone explain why a BASIS member company needs to share their company's Income Tax Certificate or Acknowledgement of Receipt for the latest year (2023-2024) and Company Tax Identification Number (TIN) Certificate in order to get their BASIS Membership Certificate???!!!
What compliance of TAX Regulation BASIS have to meet?! When did BASIS became a NBR office from a Association? If any TAX Regulation has to be met that should be applicable to the Company not Association. As far as I could remember BASIS and all other associations are established by the permission and supervision of Commerce ministry.
When this development happened? Was any member informed about it? Did anyone from BASIS EC talked with NBR about this demand?!!!
Why BASIS Member Company has to put up with these kind of demands like “Registration with BOI” and now “NBR TAX Regulation”?
Income TAX certificate or TIN certificate is one thing but Company TAX return Acknowledgement receipt is a very privet company document with sensitive information. Why any company would share this information with Association? If needed they could be shared with NBR directly.
I think it is high time to address these issues…
