May of the current fiscal year 2022-23 saw a remarkable increase of 7.11% in merchandise exports, amounting to $50.5 billion based on EPB data. Despite the impressive growth rate, the total earnings are still 5.29% lower than the government's target of $5.12 billion for May. However, the month's export receipts experienced an upswing after two months of negative growth, majorly due to the surge in apparel exports. In March 2022, the overall export earnings were $4.64 billion, which decreased to $3.96 billion in the following month, according to EPB records.
