What is the lactase enzyme?

Lactase is a safe, naturally occurring enzyme produced within the small intestine. The addition of Lactase enzyme to the baby’s milk compensates for lactase deficiency in the baby’s digestive system by breaking lactose down into glucose and galactose.

Studies have shown that the hours of crying may be greatly reduced when a baby’s usual milk is treated with lactase.
