📸 Building Youth Capacity to Amplify Girls' Voices

Youth Action for Development (YAD) successfully conducted a Youth Volunteer Training on Photovoice, Ethics, Referral & Safeguarding under the project "She Speaks Through the Lens – Youth Photovoice Against Child Marriage."

Implemented with support from Plan International Bangladesh through the Youth Equality Award 2026, this training brought together dedicated young volunteers who will contribute to documenting the lived experiences, challenges, aspirations, and resilience of adolescent girls.

The training covered:
🔹 Photovoice methodology
🔹 Ethical storytelling and documentation
🔹 Photography basics for social impact
🔹 Safeguarding and child protection
🔹 Referral mechanisms
🔹 Story collection approaches and volunteer responsibilities

Following this training, volunteers will begin collecting stories in Korail Informal Settlement, Dhaka, engaging with:
• Adolescent girls at risk of child marriage
• Already married adolescent girls

Through photography and storytelling, the project aims to create a platform where girls can share their own experiences, raise awareness on child marriage, and contribute to positive social change.

Youth Action for Development (YAD) held a strategic coordination meeting with the Finance Team and Program Implementation Team of the Youth Share-Net Project. Discussions centered on upcoming project activities, financial planning, implementation progress, team coordination, risk management, and future priorities. The meeting reinforced YAD's commitment to effective project management, accountability, and delivering meaningful impact for young people and communities.
