The name of the Grand Glaize Bridge is changing to honor Osage Beach Police Officer Phylicia Carson.

The bridge was officially designated the "Police Officer Phylicia Carson Memorial Bridge" on Thursday by Governor Mike Kehoe.

The change was put forth by State Representative Jeff Vernetti, and Osage Beach Police Lieutenant Michael O'Day testified on behalf of OBPD in support of the honor at the State Capitol a few months ago.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is expected to erect new bridge signs after the bill goes into effect in late August.

Officer Carson was killed in the line of duty in August 2024. We appreciate the thoughtful efforts to recognize Officer Carson on the local, state and federal levels.
