You don't need an MBA for that. Online courses, books, volunteering for stretch projects, informational interviews โ€” often faster, cheaper, and just as effective.

Treat it like your semester exams or quizzes as if you already spent the $$ behind them.

โ†’ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜‡๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—น๐˜† ๐Ÿ”ข You can't learn everything at once. Ask your manager and your Mentor Board of Directors: "What skill gap is hurting me most right now?" Fix that first. Aspirational learning comes after the urgent stuff.

Like, I stopped learning a new Email Automation system and started ๐™ก๐™š๐™–๐™ง๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™–๐™—๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฉ ๐˜ผ๐™œ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™˜ ๐™ฅ๐™ก๐™–๐™ฉ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง๐™ข๐™จ.

The old model, learned in school & โš“coast forever, is dead.

The "wise elder who guides your entire career" is mostly a myth. The most successful people are also the busiest, and everyone wants a piece of them.

๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ'๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜€ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ ๐Ÿ‘‡

(I have work mentors spanning 3 continents, within my work team, ex-employer & current clients too).

A peer who's great at public speaking. A junior colleague who's incredible at social media. A friend who nails work-life balance. All of them count.

โ†’ ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ป'๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐Ÿค Consciously spend more time with the people you admire. Observe how they think and operate. Ask for advice when relevant. You absorb more than you realize, just by being in the room.

โ†’ ๐—”๐—น๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐—ด๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐Ÿ”„ Mentorship is never one-sided. Share your own expertise. Help with a project they care about. Buy lunch or coffee. Show up for them, too.

That's not a feeling. That's backed by research.
