Still waiting for the ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ฟ to magically appear? That's not how it works.
The "wise elder who guides your entire career" is mostly a myth. The most successful people are also the busiest, and everyone wants a piece of them.

(I have work mentors spanning 3 continents, within my work team, ex-employer & current clients too).
Your mentors don't have to be senior executives. A peer who's great at public speaking. A junior colleague who's incredible at social media. A friend who nails work-life balance. All of them count.
(I learned from a Gen-Alpha how IG Stories & TikTok can be formatted for killer engagements - yet to implement though).
Consciously spend more time with the people you admire. Observe how they think and operate. Ask for advice when relevant. You absorb more than you realize, just by being in the room.
Mentorship is never one-sided. Share your own expertise. Help with a project they care about. Buy lunch or coffee. Show up for them, too.
(I usually do that at scale, over a closed chat group. But, always a call away for my peers.)
You don't need one perfect mentor. You need the right people around you - each teaching you something different.

The most overlooked productivity hack has nothing to do with time management. ๐คฏ It's "๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐๐๐" at work.
Sounds simple. But most of us aren't doing it. Here's why it matters
Sociologists call it "covering". When people play down parts of who they are to fit in. The working mother who avoids mentioning her kids at the workplace. The employee who hides a health struggle from colleagues. Research shows 61% of ALL employees do this.
When you're managing your identity and monitoring what you say, what you share, how you come across, your brain is burning fuel that could go toward actual work. That's not a feeling. That's backed by research.
Studies show that employees who stopped covering felt less isolated, more connected to colleagues, and reported stronger career growth. Freed from identity management, they simply performed better.
Productivity isn't just about doing more in less time.
It's about showing up as your full self, so your ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ ๐ด๐ผ๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ, not into managing a version of yourself that isn't real.
Have you ever felt the pressure to "cover" at work? ๐

Nobody told you what the ๐ป๐ฒ๐
๐ ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น of your ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ actually requires.
Most marketers work hard. Show up. Execute well. And still wonder why the promotion never comes.
It's not about effort. It's about knowing what game you're supposed to be playing at each level.
Turn data into stories. Act before being told. Challenge strategy out loud.
Own the brand. Be the point person. Manage a P&L.
Lead cross-functional plans. Handle pressure. Drive the forecast.
Build great marketers. Set the standard. Be the voice.
Culture, vision, and ownership over every result.
Every level demands a different version of you. Skills that get you promoted from Entry Level to Senior Exec won't make you a great Director.
What makes a great VP would make a terrible Executive or BM. The shift isn't just about responsibility; it's about mindset.
I put together a ๐ณ๐๐น๐น ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฑ๐ผ๐๐ป of ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐:
