Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and his wife, Grecia Munoz, took on the roles of food delivery agents in Gurgaon, offering a firsthand experience of the work done by their delivery personnel. Goyal shared their experience on Instagram, posting pictures of the couple riding a bike in Zomato’s signature red uniforms and interacting with customers.

The initiative aimed to understand the challenges faced by delivery agents. Goyal expressed his enjoyment of the experience, saying he loved delivering food and riding with his wife. The gesture drew attention on social media, with users praising the couple’s hands-on approach.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has introduced India's first “large order fleet” designed to handle all large orders for parties, gatherings, and events.

Notably, the fleet consists entirely of electric vehicles and is capable of handling orders for events with up to 50 people.

Goyal noted that previously, Zomato processed large orders using multiple delivery agents, which often resulted in a suboptimal customer experience.

"These new vehicles should address most issues our customers encounter when placing large orders on Zomato," he said.

He also said that the vehicles are currently a "work in progress," with further improvements being made, such as the addition of cooling compartments and hot boxes with temperature control, to ensure that everything is delivered just as customers want it.

"After World War II, logistics moved from warfare to business. Physical distribution of products began with a focus on outbound activity. Filling orders, distribution of products, storage and warehousing, production planning and customer service are presently important aspects of the logistics process.

An entire industry was born from what started as a way to get products from point A to point B. Many companies now rely on outsourcing for some or all of their supply chain management activities, resulting in the development of third party logistics companies for efficient transport and tracking of goods."
