When his batchmates jokingly said, "Learn the ejection well, you can't tell when it will happen," he would say, "Whatever happens, I'll never abandon my aircraft." He believed that his life was insignificant to this plane bought with the sweat money of the people. He will do his utmost to protect this invaluable resource of the country.

Flight Lieutenant Tahmid Rumman finally kept his word. On this day in 2015, at around 11 am, he was flying in the sky of Patenga with an F-7MB warplane. After flying for 40 minutes, the plane suddenly fell into mechanical trouble. The plane lost contact with the Air Force's control room as he tried to defend the plane. Shortly afterwards, Merchantship to Coastguard to Air Force from Patenga coast learned that his plane had crashed off Patenga coast.His body was never recovered.
