!! Pre-Departure FAQs for September 2022 intake students !!

!! Fanshawe College, Canada !!

- We would like to inform you the Fall 2022 semester begins next week and, as usual, Fanshawe College, Canada have lots of information to share.
- The College has prepared a Reference Guide to assist students with the start of their studies and to help them adjust to life in London.
- In addition, the college have prepared some common FAQs for students below. We hope these help students begin their studies at Fanshawe College.

1. Where and when do I get my class schedule?
Class schedules are now available in WebAdvisor. Students are advised to registered and have paid their fees in full. This includes having completed the International Student Form by the deadlines requested. It will take 1-2 business days for it to appear.

2. What are WebAdvisor and FOL, and how do I get in?
Please use this link for more information. When student applied to Fanshawe, they received an email from the College with a username and password that student need to get into WebAdvisor and FOL (FanshaweOnline). If a student can't find it, they can go here to reset their password by using student number.

3. Do I have health insurance? What about my family?
Yes, and this is included in students fees! Please check the Morcare link on college's website for contact information for Morcare and details about their coverage, including how to add students family. The student will be able to print their Morcare card after the 10th day of the semester has passed.

4. How do I get a bus pass?
If students are in a full-time program in London, an LTC bus pass is included in their fees. Please see this link for more information.

5. What is a FANCard and how do I get one?
A FANCard is student identification (and it is used as student LTC bus pass) and here is the information you need about getting the card.

6. Does Fanshawe require students to be vaccinated? How do I get a vaccine?
Fanshawe College has lifted its mandatory masking and vaccine policies as students return to in-person learning for the fall semester. However, students and employees are strongly encouraged to mask indoors and stay up to date on recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccine. If applicants would like to get a vaccine, they are free in Canada and are widely available. Here is the link to the Middlesex London Health Unit vaccine info page for more information.

7. How/where do I get textbooks?
Please contact Fanshawe College Retail Services representatives and they can help!

8. Are there online events to help me with arrival questions, immigration issues, etc?
Yes. On Friday, September 2, the International Centre is hosting a special welcome for international students. These events are being offered online and in-person. In addition, the college-wide orientation day is Tuesday, September 6. The college are offering multiple sessions including program orientation, President's Welcome, Co-op sessions, and FOL sessions. 9. When do I need to decide if I'm going to defer? And how do I defer?
Typically this needs to be done before the start of classes. The deferral request needs to be added in the Comments section of Course Finder. Deferral requests cannot be accepted by email. Here is the Withdrawal and Refund Policy info.
