“[...] I think the beauty of the symbolism in dreams is that you project yourself onto beings other than yourself. In one of the references I gave you, Susan Rowland writes about symbolism and nature and psychology and how the symbols in our dreams are essentially our minds processing things through the means of embodying ourselves through nature. Our unconscious talks to us in this way, which I think makes a lot of sense and is a beautiful process we already do naturally. If you think about it, it’s just such an obvious thing because if we have the ability to dream, which is a whole other topic, of course, but in dreams this merging just happens and it’s right there, inside, in front of us, you know? Experiencing our own porousness becomes so much more tangible through dreams. It makes them interesting for me to work with, because this whole idea of ecology, what attracted me to it was this idea of a porous universe where everything flows into each other, and it really happens when we dream and it affects us in our waking life. That is why I really like to engage with my dreams, because you kind of connect these worlds, and then through that, you learn a lot about yourself and through that you learn a lot about the whole world around you as well, how it flows through you.”
