Ensemble La Couleur des Chaconnes neemt je mee in de rijke Engelse muziektraditie van de 16e en 17e eeuw – van verfijnde madrigalen tot intieme hofmuziek. Een tijd van grote creativiteit, maar ook van religieuze spanningen die componisten dwongen voorzichtig te zijn, zich aan te passen, of soms zelfs te vluchten.

Een verhaal dat vandaag nog erg herkenbaar is. Daarom komt ook een getuige aan het woord.
