TRIXIE WHITLEY
Trixie Whitley's new album LACUNA RE-IMAGINED is out now!
Here’s a lil clip of the bass performance on “Weather Girl” — I happened to press record on my phone at the same time that I pressed record in protools as I was trying to teach myself to get around the software more effectively from my home office (despite how much I felt I was gonna loose my mind during this time in the process). I’m so grateful encouraged me to take on both the recording & the playing for this one as it was the first time I dared to actually lay down the bass line I was hearing in my head. For the bass nerds: yes I’m playing a 70’s SG with flat-wound strings 🙃 I’ve been obsessed with grooves and singing along to bass lines and horn & string sections since I was a kid, it’s given me profound joy to deepen and continue to exercise my listening ears while producing this music. The other players who’ve generously contributed to this music, truly have only elevated it in the best ways I could imagine . I hope the track has landed in some pleasurable way for those who’ve heard it so far?
