On the occasion of Father's Day:

A beautiful song in memory of our dad, called “Mountain”.

Written and performed by my brother Johan on all instruments and vocals except drums (which I play). The original vocals have been augmented with Audimee.

Our recordings/production have been polished and augmented after my mastering by Suno.
Suno added some organ as well.

I haven’t posted for a long time. Together with my brother Johan,
I was looking for a way to improve our work using new AI techniques. Think of Audimee and Suno.

Our process is as follows: we compose, rehearse, and play the song exactly as Johan and me intended, and then record it as well as possible using our existing techniques. If we are not satisfied with the vocals, we export these tracks and replace them with vocals of choice using Audimee. I even master the song all the way to the end, but then we import it into Suno which renders a polished result.

Very often, we are given a new perspective on the song through subtle adjustments to the sound of the instruments, and sometimes a delicate and subtle new part is added to the background. This often yields surprisingly beautiful results.

We sometimes re-record these new tracks ourselves, depending on the Suno quality. We are now at the point where we are getting a grip on our new approach/production method, and although we are amateurs, this offers beautiful results.

Ultimately, the most important thing is that we can produce music that conveys the emotions contained in the song to the listeners as effectively as possible.

Here is one of the songs we greatest the way I described above. It is about the difficult relationship, conflicts, and tensions we, as sons, had with our dad. He died in 2005 before we could talk everything out, because he was a very reserved and stubborn man. Yet he will remain in our hearts, because he gave everything he could to give us a childhood that was good in his eyes.
