FAM Stumabo
FAM STUMABO develops and manufactures industrial food cutting machines and premium precision blades for food processing
The most sustainable kilo is the kilo you do not waste.
Sustainability in food processing is often discussed in terms of energy, water, packaging, and logistics. Those topics matter, but there is another lever much closer to the product itself: cutting quality.
Every off-spec piece, broken fragment, or unnecessary fine has already consumed resources. Raw material has been grown, harvested, transported, stored, cooled, handled, and prepared before it reaches the cutting stage.
That is why yield improvement is one of the most practical sustainability discussions a food processor can have. Better cutting performance not only supports product quality but also helps more of the raw material reach the customer in the right shape and condition.
For fresh-sliced products, this link becomes very concrete. A machine such as Volantis is designed for accurate transverse slicing of long- and oblong-shaped products, with uniform slices, smooth surfaces, and minimal breakage or ragged ends. In practice, that means less avoidable product loss and a stronger basis for shelf life.
This is where sustainability and profitability point in the same direction. Less waste means better use of ingredients, fewer losses in the process, and more value from the same input.
Precision cutting will not solve every sustainability challenge in food processing. But it does address a very practical one: protecting the product value that is already in the line.

Small stones. Big operational impact.
Small stones can create major disruption in potato chips processing.
Even after washing, sorting and inspection, embedded stones may still reach the cutting stage. Once inside the cutting head, they can strike several blades in succession, causing repeated blade damage, unplanned stops and less predictable slicing performance.
That is why FAM STUMABO developed StoneExtractor.
Its redesigned segment geometry improves stone evacuation inside the cutting head, helping guide small stones out of the cutting zone immediately after impact. The goal: reduce cumulative damage and support more stable production, especially when raw material conditions become more challenging.
The solution has already been validated under real industrial conditions at Kelly Ges.m.b.H., Austria’s market leader in salty snacks, where it helped reduce blade wear and unplanned stops.
StoneExtractor: designed to keep stones moving out, not around.

Petfood Forum wrapped up.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth and shared their processing challenges with our FAM STUMABO USA team (Drew, Mario, Paul). The conversations were sharp, practical—and right to the point.
Didn’t make it to the show? No problem.
If you have questions around petfood processing—cut quality, yield, efficiency—reach out. We’re ready to continue the conversation and explore what’s possible for your operation.

40 years of the Antwerp 10 Miles. And yes… we were at the start again!
For the 4th time, a FAM STUMABO team joined the race. Not because we had to. Because it’s something you experience together.
Some chased a personal best. Others ran for the atmosphere. Everyone crossed the finish line with the same feeling.
What does that say about us?
We move forward. We pull each other along. And there’s room for fun — alongside precision and performance.
When you work together on sharp results every day, it feels right to run together once in a while.
Same mindset. Different track.

Even focussen. Even het hoofd leegmaken.
