Photo from the beach with my trusty Ibanez. The one that played all the shoegaze melodies on the singles, the first album and the EP. She’s earned her vacation in the sun too! ☀️🤭
But no full break for us: Laucean keeps rehearsing and is actively looking for live dates. The live band is open to split bills, playing as support band or landing a slot at a venue or festival. If you’re organizing something or know of any opportunities, hit us up! 📩

At Laucean, it’s never just one.
Every song runs both at once and « Le voyage lumineux » is a perfect example. Belgian melodic metal and shoegaze from the EP « Jusqu’à ton dernier souffle ».

🌊 « Le voyage lumineux » but not the way you know it.
This is what it sounded like when I first wrote it — before it became a metal track with 8-string guitar, drums and 6-string bass.
So I stripped it back. Just piano, shoegaze ambient guitars and clean vocals. Same song, completely different skin.
On the surface of the lyrics, it’s about sharks migrating across the ocean.
But really, it’s about searching for your path, your happiness even when you’ve lost all hope.
This is Laucean.
This is the melodic side of metal.

A few moments from our rehearsals at The Black Lab.
Despite the heatwave, we found the courage to rehearse in temperatures close to 35°C. Laurent had a slight advantage after surviving five days of scorching heat at Graspop Metal Meeting just a few days earlier.
The live set is taking shape nicely.
Maxime is now ready to play most of the songs from the debut album and we're getting closer to bringing them to the stage.
We should have three shows to announce before the end of the year.
In the meantime, we're continuing to book shows for 2027 and are actively looking for a motivated drummer to join the adventure.
We can't wait to share this journey with you.

📍At Graspop Metal Meeting!
This is already my 10th year attending as a visitor.
Every edition reminds me why I love this festival so much.
I truly hope that one day Laucean will have the chance to perform on the stages of this amazing festival Graspop Metal Meeting as well as Alcatraz Open Air.
It would be a dream come true after all these years of standing on the other side of the barrier.
In the meantime, I’ll be here all weekend!
