Jailbreaks. Data leakage. Mass personal profiling at a scale no human team could ever execute. Dual-use models that are useful and dangerous in the same breath. Attacks on infrastructure that used to require nation-state budgets and now require a laptop. The dashboards everyone watches measure capability - but the harder question is what happens once that capability is loose in the world, and whether the systems we're racing to deploy are safe enough to trust with robotics, with cars, with critical infrastructure.

Maria Drencheva works on exactly this question.

A mathematician by training, gold at the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad with a perfect score, long-time member of Bulgaria's national math teams, she became the first undergraduate from a Bulgarian university to publish at ICLR, one of the most prestigious AI conferences in the world. She did it as part of EXPLORER, Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology's bachelor's program in AI and Deep Tech, and spent her internship at Man Group.
