Last summer, the sloth was finally recognized as the national animal of Costa Rica! 🦥

We don't know about you but we feel like it’s been a long time coming! Sloths are plentiful throughout the country. In fact, they are some of the most common animals in the rainforest!

But funnily enough, they're not so easy to spot as they tend to hang out high in the tree tops and only make their way down to the ground once a week. That’s why it’s so important to go to the rainforest with a guide. They know exactly where they are and how to find them and can teach you all sorts of fun facts about why it looks like they’re always smiling, why they’re so slow, why their fur is all green and mossy. They’re fascinating creatures!
