INTERVIEW #3 - ABOUT THE BRAZILIAN POET ÁLVARES DE AZEVEDO WITH THE RESEARCHER LUCIANA FATIMA
Leaving the world of translations for an instant, I bring to this third interview the researcher Luciana Fatima who I had the pleasure of meeting her on Instagram after making a post about an excerpt of the work Night in the Tavern, by the great Brazilian poet, Álvares de Azevedo, a poet that was born in São Paulo, but carioca at heart who unfortunately could not complete his law studies at the Law School of USP (University of São Paulo) , better known as the Law School of Largo São Francisco, reaching the 4th of 5 years of classes, but due to his premature death at his 20 years old, whose reasons are still debatable and uncertain, he did not have the opportunity to know whether he would pursue this career or to which he came by vocation, that would be Literature. A spectacular writer who, in very short time of life period, wrote important works that are objects of study until nowadays, among them, the most remarkable are: Lira dos Vinte Anos (Lyre of the Twenty Years Old), Macário and Noite na Taverna (Night in the Tavern), still leaving fragments of poetry and texts that are researched and perhaps they see the light at some future day. Belonging to the school of ultra-Romanticism, the second phase of Brazilian Romanticism, we can include it in the group of the cursed poets because he not only stuck to the ultra-romantic style, he already sailed through symbolist and modernist seas, demonstrating very strong ability for prose, in addition to poetry, being undeniable his literary heritage that passes from generation to generation and keeps his name more alive than ever.
