RBDF MORALE WELFARE AND RECREATION UNIT | FAMILY READINESS AND SUPPORT OFFICE HOSTS FINANCIAL LITERACY EXPO

The RBDF Morale Welfare and Recreation Unit (MWRU) | Family Readiness and Support Office (FRSO) hosted a Financial Literacy Expo aimed at empowering New Entry Training Recruits enrolled at The Bahamas Military and Maritime Academy, on board HMBS Coral Harbour on Tuesday, 07 July, 2026.

The RBDF promotes financial literacy as an essential mission-readiness skill across all ranks and rates. It is critical, because financial stress, unmanaged debt, and the lack of financial prudence are root causes that can compromise operational readiness.

The Financial Literacy Expo provided New Entry Training Recruits with a diverse array of informative platforms that offered invaluable insights into investments, budgeting, savings strategies and prudent financial decision-making. The Expo’s focus was to ensure that the New Entry Training Recruits left with actionable recommendations tailored to their financial potential.

The Financial Literacy Expo reflects the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s commitment and holistic development for a career in military service. The emphasis on financial literacy which is a cornerstone of operational readiness, fosters resilience, supports stress management, and the preparation for complex moral and ethical dilemmas in a career in military service. The RBDF integrates mandatory financial education across all ranks and rates to safeguard against a lack financial prudence and predatory lending scenarios.

Force Chief Petty Antoine Adams is the Warrant Officer In-Charge of the MWRU and FRSO teams responsible for the coordination and ex*****on of the Financial Literacy Expo. It featured informative presentations from a distinguished lineup of representatives, including:

Representatives shared their expertise and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of savings, budgeting, investments and financial management. The New Entry Training Recruits engaged directly with industry professionals, asking questions and seeking personalized advice.
