Paro Forest Division

The Divisional Forest Office,Paro presented on forest fire (ecology, causes, trend, impact and techniques to combat forest fire) today to the refresher course trainees of Royal Bhutan Army, Commando Wing at Shaba. The RBA of Shaba is one of the important conservation partners in combating forest fire in Paro Dzongkhag.

The forest fire that broke out at Zankeypang in Tsento Gewog on 27 January 2026 has been successfully contained. Firefighters from the Paro Forest Division, Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC), Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), Paro Dzongkhag Administration (PC), and local communities worked collaboratively to suppress the fire. The fire engine from the RBP and the water tanker from the RBA were particularly instrumental in the firefighting efforts.
