FEAST 🍽 🍛

After days of wrestling with numbers, battling mysterious codes, crossing streams, and conquering glaciers, we finally decided it was time to reward ourselves! 😅🏔️💻

The entire gang of smarts gathered for a well-deserved dinner, raising a toast to our hard work, resilience, and survival skills both in the field and in front of spreadsheets. 🍻 What made the night even more special was having Sir Ugyen Dorji join us, turning a simple dinner into a memorable celebration. We ate like explorers returning from an expedition—no plate was left unchallenged! 🥓🍗🍚🥩🥦🌶️ By the end of the night, the food was defeated, our stomachs were victorious, and the memories were priceless. 😄✨

Dear seniors B.Sc Forestry 8th Batch ,

In a vast forest, the towering trees do more than simply stand tall—they provide shade, shelter, and protection to the young saplings growing beneath them. Through scorching sunlight, heavy rain, and fierce winds, they stand as guardians, allowing the younger trees to grow stronger and reach for the sky. In the same way, you, our beloved seniors, have guided us, protected us from negative influences, shared your wisdom, and paved a clear path for us to follow.

Today, as you prepare to leave and begin a new chapter, it feels as though a cherished stand of mature trees is being felled from the forest. The loss is not felt by the trees alone, but by every young sapling that once thrived under their shade. Your departure leaves a space that cannot easily be filled, and we, your juniors, will deeply feel your absence. Yet, just as the seeds of great trees continue to grow long after they have fallen, the lessons, memories, and values you have planted within us will continue to flourish.

As a small token of our love, gratitude, and respect, we wish each of you a successful defense and a joyful graduation. May your roots remain strong, your branches reach new heights, and your journey ahead be filled with endless success and happiness.

Thank you for being our shelter, our guides, and our inspiration.

We will miss you forever.

With love and respect,

Your Juniors,
FO Department

Date 28.5.2026

Breaking free from the four walls of classrooms filled with theories and PowerPoint presentations, our block day field visit provided an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in stream flow measurement. The visit was conducted at Toebrong Chu, located below Chimi Lhakhang in Punakha Dzongkhag. Under the guidance of Sir @ Rupesh Subedi, students were divided into groups and carried out stream discharge measurements using the Volumetric Method and the Area-Velocity Method, including the Float Method and the Current Meter Method. The field exercise allowed us to apply our theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and better understand hydrological measurements.

The day was both educational and adventurous, as we worked alongside the flowing stream amidst the beautiful natural surroundings of Punakha. Beyond learning technical skills, the activity strengthened teamwork and gave us a memorable field experience. After completing the measurements, we enjoyed lunch together and had a pleasant journey back, making the block day a perfect blend of learning, adventure, and fun.

End of Bamboo Plantation – May 14

We are happy to share that our bamboo plantation project has been successfully completed in three batches, with the presence and efforts of all our classmates. After teamwork, dedication, and a few moments of “creative resting,” the primary foundation of our project is finally complete.

Now, we look forward to seeing the bamboo grow big and tall as we continue to nurture it with care and patience. 🌱🎋

This project was not just about planting bamboo, but also about creating memories, learning together, and proving that even with different levels of energy, we can still achieve something meaningful as a team.

A Block Day to Salamje, Dagana Dzongkhag 🚌✨

Accompanied by Dr. Bhagat and Sir Mr. Laxmi Sagar, we set off on a memorable journey to Salamzi under Dagana Dzongkhag. Crossing a hanging bridge and climbing the steep, winding footpath with our backpacks on, every step became part of an adventure filled with laughter and excitement. 🎒🏃‍♂🚶🏻‍♀🚶‍

The village welcomed us with the charm of old times — peaceful surroundings, humid air, and evergreen hills adorned with 🍋mango and 🍓litchi trees. The simplicity and beauty of the place gave us a heartwarming glimpse into traditional village life. 🐖🐷🍍

What made the journey even more special was the warm hospitality of the community people. Their kindness and cheerful smiles instantly made us feel at home. During our stay, we conducted a survey 📑on the benefits of Community Forestry (CF) and the challenges faced by the local community📝. Listening to their experiences gave us valuable insights and meaningful learning opportunities.

The following day, we compiled the data we had collected and prepared a presentation to share our findings with the villagers. It was an enriching experience to interact, discuss, and exchange ideas together. The session concluded with heartfelt words of appreciation and a warm vote of thanks from the officers and local residents.

Though our stay was short, the memories we created were truly unforgettable. As the time to leave drew near, we bid farewell to the wonderful people of Salamzi with grateful hearts. On our way back, the journey became even more joyful as we surprised our dear Dawa Norbu with a loud and 🎈cheerful🎂🍰 birthday🍾🎊 celebration on the bus, filling the ride home with 😆laughter, 🎶songs, and happiness.

Indeed, the trip was not just educational, but also filled with friendship, warmth, and beautiful memories that we will cherish for a long time.
