Bhutan Development Bank would like to notify all concerned borrowers that the payment moratorium facility granted under the Loan Restructuring Measures shall 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. Accordingly, all affected loans are required to resume regular repayments from 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Borrowers whose loans are currently under the payment moratorium are requested to submit a formal application to BDB to commence loan repayments effective July 2026. The prescribed application should be submitted to the nearest BDB Branch Office 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The application form is available for download on the Bank’s official website.

Borrowers are encouraged to comply within the stipulated timeline to ensure a smooth transition to regular repayment and to avoid any inconvenience.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥

Bhutan Development Bank, in accordance with the directives of the Royal Monetary Authority, has commenced the 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 under the Economic Stimulus Program for loans availed by the 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Under the scheme, an interest subsidy of 5% will be granted to eligible borrowers. Of this, 4% will be provided by the Royal Government of Bhutan through the ESP, while the remaining 1% be borne by BDB.

The scheme is applicable to licensed four‑star and below hotels with existing loans from BDB, provided they are duly registered with the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Registration System.

Eligible borrowers are requested to submit the prescribed application form along with the required supporting documents to the nearest BDB Branch Office on or before 31st July 2026. The application form is available for download on the Bank’s official website.
