A master of stealth, armed with a dart for a beak and beautiful piercing eyes that could deceive it's prey 🐟🦗

Shot with a handheld camera and 300 mm lens, and with super slow moving hands and body as I was hiding behind a see through hide! (tree)🪾👻

THE OLD MISSIONARY HOUSE: A RELIC TURNED DERELICT....🏚️✝️

Now lying desolate, the Old Mission House remains a derelict; with no one to protects its dilapidating walls and no one to share the stories or who its occupants have been through the decades. One thing for sure, its most recent occupants have been predominantly Christian (photos prove it!), the missionaries really have left their mark.

Having converted the Ngwaketse tribe to Christianity and getting them to abolish some of their cultural practices such as “the inheritance of widows by the dead man's brothers” (bride-price stood the abolishment!), the missionaries’ achievements remain the cornerstones of the tribe as the first two major churches (London Missionary Society & The Seventh Adventist Church) are still standing today. Observing the Sabbath is quite a common practice amongst most of the tribesmen and women, marking the deeper mark that the messengers of the good word have left on families decades ago and the change in lifestyle that Christianity had on the tribe.

Did the first white and black missionaries Reverend J. Good (arrived in 1871) and Sebubi (arrived in 1848) reside in the Missionary House while in the Bangwaketse territory? Shouldn’t this House be protected as a Monument?
