BOSETU President Dr Winston Radikolo has called on the government to clarify the African Hero Project, amid public controversy over its financing arrangements, accountability and the government’s long-term obligations. He says the union supports education development but insists that initiatives involving public education must be transparent and properly explained to stakeholders.

“We are not against development, innovation or education reforms, but we cannot support what we do not understand. We hope the Vice President will clear the mist surrounding the African Hero Project. Transparent implementation of education sector initiatives is a must.”

BOSETU President Dr Winston Radikolo has called for urgent improvements in teachers’ working conditions and welfare, urging the government to translate policies into tangible action.

“Comrade Vice President, we must move from policy to practice. There has to be fair remuneration and career progression, timely and predictable payment for temporary teachers, and equal treatment for temporary and permanent teachers performing comparable work. There must also be respect for collective bargaining and social dialogue, as well as recognition of teachers’ professional contributions.”
