MAUN EDUCATION PARK OFFICIALLY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC

The Chief Executive Officer of Tiego Mpho – The Fauna Conservation Trust of Ngamiland has announced the official opening of the Maun Education Park to members of the public.

In announcing the opening, the CEO acknowledged that while the park is not yet fully developed due to limited resources, it is now ready to welcome visitors and will continue to improve with community support.

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a range of outdoor activities at the park, including picnics, park runs, cycling, nature walks and mokoro rides within the sanctuary.

The Trust also expressed gratitude to its partners for their support in making the project a reality, namely Chobe Holdings, Chobe Impact, Natural Selection Foundation, MMG Khoemacau and Connect.

Entry Fees:

* Adults: BWP50
* Children under 12: BWP30

The opening of the Maun Education Park provides a new recreational and environmental education space for the community while promoting conservation awareness and nature-based tourism in Maun.

LASTY CONTINUES MOKORO RACING DOMINANCE WITH TAPYOWA DOUBLE

Lasty Kedisa from Boro village continued his impressive form over the weekend after winning two titles at the TAPYOWA Mokoro Race held at Mmamukhutshwane Island in the Okavango Delta.

Fresh from competing in the Nkashi Classic heats, Kedisa was crowned champion in both the 400-metre and 800-metre mokoro races, further cementing his status as one of the region’s top competitors.

Speaking after his victories, Kedisa said it was his first time taking part in the TAPYOWA Mokoro Race and expressed delight at his performance.

He is now turning his attention to the Nkashi Classic finals, which are scheduled to take place in Seronga later this month, where he hopes to continue his winning streak against the country’s best mokoro racers.
