Make wildlife great again! 💪🏼🙌🏽

Belize’s wildlife needs time to recover. 🌿🦜🦌

A temporary 1-year moratorium is now in place for the hunting and capture of:
• Yellow-headed Amazon Parrots
• Brown Brocket Deer
• White-lipped Peccary

This added layer of protection helps address growing threats like illegal hunting, wildlife trafficking, habitat loss, and increasing commercial demand.

Protecting wildlife means protecting Belize’s forests, biodiversity, watersheds, livelihoods, and future generations.

Respect wildlife. Respect the law. Protect our future.

We love our multitude of beautiful snakes ❤️

🌴🐍 Belize is home to over 60 known species of snakes, including 11 venomous species and many rear-fanged species.
“Every snake is a Tommygoff.” That mindset causes more problems than it solves.
Most snakes in Belize won’t harm you. Even venomous ones usually just want to get away. The danger is misidentifying them—or trying to handle them.
Respect distance, not fear. 🐍🌴
What’s the last snake you saw around your place?

We love our Jaguars!

A jaguar was recently spotted in the mountains of Honduras for the first time in ten years, giving hope for the species’ recovery. This rare “cloud jaguar” was captured on camera at a high altitude, which is unusual for these animals. Jaguars have lost nearly half of their natural habitat, mainly due to deforestation and poaching. However, conservation efforts like wildlife corridors and anti-poaching programs are helping protect them. The sighting suggests that these efforts may be working and that jaguar populations could slowly recover in the future.
