Saturday we had a group of 30 Belizean youths visiting the kitchen to experience the ancient chocolate drink. Knowing kids that age I knew they would like it if I brought out milk and sugar as I normally do for kids, and I was absolutely right. They loved the drink and most came bk for seconds and a couple compared it to "Milo" , saying it tasted like it. So happy they enjoyed it and I don't as able to share a little bit of our Mayan heritage to our very own.

Today January 27 2026, wet and cold outside, but dry and warm at Eden Valley Mayan Kitchen. Linda and Gary Gibson from Canada visited our kitchen to experience Mayan cuisine. They roasted plantain leaves for tamales, made handmade corn tortillas, a delicious chicken soup, and also roasted, peeled and ground cacao to make a delicious cup of the hot ancient chocolate drink. We loved spending the morning with this amazing couple of travelers. Thank you Linda and Gary for your visit and hope you truly enjoy your stay in our beautiful country.
