Kamal is likely one of the hardest workers I know. Lugging around heavy, heavy rolls of carpet on his shoulder, up countless flights of stairs, let alone the process of stripping the flooring and installing. This continuous work especially in the least favourable conditions can play havoc on the body.
The man literally fell on ice while carrying a huge roll of carpet, stuffed ice in the areas needed and finished the job. So when Kamal called me for an emergency appointment to address his shoulder I knew it was serious.
We did a heck of a job on his shoulder and affected areas im glad to say with the recommendations for at home care he’ll be back to work as soon as tomorrow.

The Indian Residential School Survivor Society (IRSSS) is a provincial organization with a twenty-year history of providing services to Indian Residential School Survivors.
IRSSS provides essential services to Residential School Survivors, their families, and those dealing with Intergenerational traumas. These impacts affect every family and every community across B.C. and Canada. This fact is most evident in the Corrections Canada Services-the numbers of First Nations people incarcerated, Child and Family Services child apprehensions, the high number of people on social assistance, unemployment and underemployed, lower levels of education, the lowest number within an ethnic minority of “determinants of health”, the list of impacts is extremely high while the services available to effectively assist impacts of Residential Schools remain quite low.
We encourage those who are able to donate as well as use this day to learn and listen to the stories and experiences of those who have dealt and are dealing with the residual effects of residential schools.
