On location at DHC for the announcement yesterday by Premier Danielle Smith that the Alberta Government has agreed to purchase five Canadair DHC515 firefighting aircraft to increase our current fleet of four CL215Ts.

Great news for Alberta and great news for De Havilland Canada!

De Havilland Canada is proud to announce a $400-million contract with the Government of Alberta for five locally built De Havilland Canadair 515 waterbombers, to strengthen the province’s wildfire response.

Built right here in Alberta, these aircraft will help protect communities and infrastructure while supporting hundreds of skilled jobs and growing the province’s aerospace sector.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to keeping Albertans safe while investing in Canadian-made capabilities for generations to come.
