The residents of Big Hill Lodge enjoyed a wonderful day trip to the World Famous Gopher Hole Museum in Torrington! 🐿️🚗

Laughter filled the museum as everyone explored the unique and quirky displays that have made this hidden Alberta gem famous. From creative dioramas to the charming little gophers, there was plenty to smile about and lots of memories made along the way.

Outings like these are a wonderful opportunity to enjoy new experiences, spend time with friends, and create lasting memories together.

🚗☀️ Seniors' Week Fun at Luxstone! ☀️🚗

As part of Seniors' Week celebrations, residents from Abrio Place enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Luxstone BBQ and Car Show.

The event brought together community members to enjoy delicious food, great conversation, and an impressive display of classic and unique vehicles. Residents had the opportunity to soak up the sunshine, admire the cars, share stories, and connect with others in the community.

A special thank you to the organizers, volunteers, vehicle owners, and everyone who helped make the event such a success. Opportunities like these help foster community connections and create meaningful experiences that make Seniors' Week so special.

Seniors Week Throwback – Friday: A Celebration 100 Years in the Making 🎉

The grand finale of Seniors Week at Rocky View Lodge could not have been more perfect.

As luck would have it, the final day of our journey through the 1900s coincided with a truly remarkable milestone—resident Nata's 100th birthday! After spending the week celebrating the decades of the 20th century, Friday became a celebration of not only 100 years of history, but 100 incredible years of Nata.

Family members gathered to share in the special occasion, filling the lodge with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Heartfelt speeches were shared by Mayor Harris, Stephen from Head Office, and Mandy, each reflecting on Nata's remarkable life and the impact she has had on those around her. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

The kitchen outdid themselves with a delicious prime rib lunch, followed by an amazing custom cake that perfectly captured the spirit of the entire week. The celebration continued with music from "Remember When," a band that includes one of our very own residents, providing the perfect soundtrack to an unforgettable afternoon.

It was a beautiful ending to a wonderful Seniors Week—one filled with history, memories, laughter, and a celebration of a century well lived. Happy 100th Birthday, Nata! ❤️🎂🎶

Seniors Week Throwback – Wednesday: 1960–1979

Wednesday at Rocky View Lodge was all about peace, love, and good vibes as residents and staff embraced the colourful spirit of the 1960s and 1970s.

The lodge was filled with flower power as everyone dressed in their best hippie-inspired outfits, complete with bright colours, peace signs, and plenty of groovy style. Residents got creative making tie-dyed t-shirts and tea towels, creating unique keepsakes that perfectly captured the era.

Lunch featured a fun 1960s-inspired menu, and the afternoon was filled with the sounds of classic rock and roll as Dennis Toner entertained residents with music from the decade. Before long, toes were tapping, hands were clapping, and memories were flowing.

It was a far-out day of creativity, music, and nostalgia as residents continued their journey through the decades during Seniors Week! 🌼☮️🎶❤️
