Vaccaro Rottweilers

It was a gorgeous, gorgeous day here in BC today, so I let Brooke meet Grunt and Cashew, and they all had a blast playing together outside. The boys were so good with her, and vice versa. The next nice day, Brooke and Waffles will have a playdate. They are going to have a blast together!

I tried to snap some photos of them, but unfortunately, I could only get a video. These are photos I took by screenshotting from the video. The little turkeys were running around like whirling dervishes. They all have way too much energy. I can't believe my Mr. Grunt-Lee is nine years old already.

Lyric's trying to figure out what's going on. I told her this is where she'll have her babies and where she'll be for the four weeks after she has them, and, as you can tell from the side eye, she is contemplating her life choices. Lol!

I put one blanket in there, and I'm going to put a bed on the other side so she can move away from the heat lamp if she wants to after the pups are born. I still have the pig rails to put in the whelping box, but I might wait until she's done whelping and then I will.

Now, I must sit on the couch beside her and get her used to being in the whelping box. I'm happy I got a couch with a lounger, so I can lie down if I want to sleep while she gets used to being in it, and after she has her puppies. It's going to be cool chillaxing with my girl and her little ones. I'm also bringing my 82-inch TV downstairs so I can watch some shows.

Life is good.

I used to cook my dog's food like this back in the 80's and 90's, and they loved it as a treat with their dry food twice a week. I think I might start cooking like this for them again because they are my fur babies and deserve a treat with their food again twice a week. Nothing is too good for my brats.

This is what’s in each batch …

3 lbs ground chicken or turkey
2 lbs chicken livers
12 eggs
1 cup coconut oil
1 16oz bag brown rice
1 large container old fashioned oats
1 bag chopped broccoli frozen
1 bag peas frozen
1 bag chopped spinach frozen
1 small bag carrots frozen
4 large sweet potatoes
4 apples

Sometimes I’ll add additional things like blueberries, venison, or beef liver depending on what I’ve got around the house.
