Quality handcrafted leather goods. The daughter of a saddle maker she began handcrafting leather as part of her father's custom tack and repair shop.

An old custom order I created for a client. I miss being able to take on more pieces like these, and one day I will again. It helps break free from the monotony of creating from my standard line to make something truly unique that will be loved for a lifetime.

I think I can safely say all small business owners really struggled with supply chain throughout the pandemic. I had to stop selling a lot of my best sellers because the hardware I needed simply wasn’t being made anymore. I was so disappointed to lose the Suffolk belt in brass.

When I came across these buckles as an alternative offering I didn’t realize that they’d be even more popular and quickly become a best seller.

I love how versatile this belt is even as a statement piece. My favourites are pieces that subtly stand out, and I think this does just that.

The bone burnisher is arguably the most underrated tool in a leathercrafter’s collection. Thanks to for sharing the history.

We don’t think of our prehistoric ancestors as being like us, likely for a variety of reasons, including humanizing the terrifying world and conditions they would have lived in. I’ve often said today is the best day to be alive, especially in contrast with our ancestors of just a hundred years ago. Tens of thousands of years is a whole other beast (literally and figuratively).

It’s interesting to see that some of same problems we encounter today (a very small problem), employs the exact same solution. It’s crazy to think that if I stumbled across this 50,000 year old tool in a museum I’d use it the exact same way and would think nothing of it.

I use this tool to finish the edges of the leather to create a smooth finish. It is also the closest thing to an eraser. Just use a bit of spit (I know, believe me it works better, I don’t know the science it just does) and then use the smooth and rounded side. This is especially handy for equestrians, if your buckle scratches up against the saddle, this is your best friend. It will smooth and buff out the scuffs nicely.

Thanks to for sharing this with me
