I am involved in the Equine Therapy Center here in Puerto Penasco where weekly, children with challenges take part in Equine Therapy. This is a not for profit and everyone involved donate their time, energy and skillsets, from the volunteers to the therapists.

My close friends used to say that I was driven. When I put my mind to something, I focused all my energy and went for it. Sometimes, to the detriment of my health. It took me a long time to understand that sometimes, what I was after wasn't what I needed and the universe made sure not to put me in that situation, or did but got me to learn hard lessons.
Some well timed comments from people I trust made me see the light: "Sometimes it takes more courage to walk away than to stay". When everything else failed, my health deteriorated to the point where I was incapacitated. I heard the message loud and clear: "If you can't hear my subtle messages, you'll feel that one". Thank you universe.

Today, I choose my battles, my goals and my rhythm to respect my limits while still pushing my boundaries. I respect my wellbeing, what my body says, what my intuition whispers and I'm opened to receiving the universe's message. I change gear, I move over to the slower lane, I stop to smell the flowers, admire the sceneries, play with my beloved animal, enjoy my grandchildren when I can, and pay attention to what life is offering, in the present.
