DC's Chicken Shack
news about upcoming editions of the Chicken Shack and events in the Blues
So blues fans we've gone from virtually no blues in Moncton to "2" new opportunities to listen to some great blues, on Tuesday evenings at Bo Diddleys, a blues jam from 7 to 9pm. And this Tuesday Feb 10 yours truly and my blues brother Travis Furlong will be playing from 7 to 8 then its jamming time.
Which also brings me to another new event. Saturdays from 1 to 3pm Travis is hosting a blues jam at the Holy Whale in Riverview. "This weekend only Sunday Feb 8th will be the jam at the Holy Whale, same time 1 to 3pm." See you there.
So if you love the blues we'll see you Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons.
Looks like there will be lots of "Blues You Can use" in Moncton!!!!

Well folks we start the 25-26 season this Sunday Sept 14th.
And I have some exciting news.
In August 1970 I attended the 2nd Ann Arbor Blues Festival.
This summer I have managed to obtain copies of the live recordings made. These have never been released. They were donated to the Wilson library at the U of North Carolina by Cris Wemberley. The recording were made by his father Dr. Ron Wimberley. Chris has given me permission to use these on the show. There are 33 hours of recordings. Needless to say it will take some time to sort through. But this Sunday I will feature the 1st 2 songs by the opening act Friday night, Roosevelt Sykes.
And more to come all season. So tune in Sundays at 9pm Alantic time to CFTA 107.9FM or online at Tantramar Community Radio live.
See you back at the shack.
And a "Big THANK YOU to Chris Wimberley and his father Ron for these gems of blues history.
