Street Light Astro

Messier 13, also known as the Hercules Globular Cluster, is a cluster of hundreds of thousands of stars located in the Hercules constellation. The stars that make up the cluster are so tightly bound together by gravity that they will live out their entire life cycles in this formation.
In 1974, Frank Drake (creator of the Drake equation), Carl Sagan, and a number of other notable scientific minds authored a pictogram message containing the basic chemical makeup of life on Earth, the formula for our DNA, and a rough diagram of our solar system. It was then transmitted as a binary signal to Messier 13 using the Arecibo Radio Telescope and aptly dubbed "The Arecibo Message". This was the first ever attempt by humanity to send a message of our existence into outer space.
