Dredging and marine material handling push equipment through some of the harshest conditions in the industry. Abrasive material, constant load cycles, and no room for downtime.

That is exactly what Bateman clamshell buckets are built to handle.

We will be at the 2026 Dredging Summit & EXPO in Montreal, July 20-23 at Hotel Bonaventure. If you are already attending, we'd be glad to connect and talk through how our attachments hold up in dredging and heavy material handling work.

This Bateman clamshell is offloading crushed aggregate from the barge — biting into the load, rotating to the hopper, releasing clean, and back for the next bite.

Loading, re-handling, digging: it's a port-handling attachment built for exactly this kind of work. Abrasion-resistant alloy steel on the leading edges takes the wear of aggregate, and 360° continuous rotation lets the operator feed the hopper without repositioning the machine.

Material handling built to keep the dock moving.

Dig. Sort. Demolish. Magnetize. One attachment, four jobs.

This is the Bateman Magnet Bucket (BMB Series) at work on a landfill — digging through mixed debris and lifting ferrous straight out of the pile, no attachment swap required.

The magnet is built right into the bucket body, so your machine digs, loads, and separates ferrous in the same cycle. Fully protected supply wires reduce downtime, and optional thumbs are available to expand your handling. Four models for 150- to 300-class machines.

Watch the Bateman Hydraulic Clamshell Bucket work shoreline rip-rap straight off the barge. Open water, abrasive stone, and constant cycling add up to the kind of job that punishes equipment fast.

It keeps producing because of what's built in:

- 360° continuous rotation places every load right where it needs to go, no repositioning
- High-abrasion alloy steel leading edges take on heavy, irregular stone day after day
- Bolt-on edges let you swap wear parts instead of the whole bucket, keeping downtime low
- An optional scalloped bowl bites into rip-rap and drains fines and water, so you move material, not mud

Decades in the toughest port and marine environments, built to keep your barge moving.
