Who’s the new owner of Lasting Image? Hi, I’m Dustin – nice to meet you!

I am an award-winning, wildlife photographer and owner of The Dusty Unknown, a local photography company. I grew up on an acreage north of Brandon and went to university at UofW and BU (I have three degrees). I moved back to the Brandon-area in 2017.

I enjoy travelling with my wife, Elizabeth, a marketing manager at Assiniboine College. She is an advocate for increasing rural breast cancer resources and research after surviving her own diagnosis in 2023. We have the best girl, Daisy, a French bulldog x Boston terrier who you might see around the shop.

I have loved comics and graphic novels since I was a kid and used to visit The Eye Opener Bookstore (IYKYK) just a few blocks away from Lasting Image. I am passionate about art, building artistic community, and preserving cultural artifacts.

I have written several picture books and recently had an exhibition “The Boy in the Forest” at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba. I am an avid collector of original comic art, Lego, and everything pop-culture.

I look forward to getting to know each of you when you visit the shop!

Days 3 & 4 of renos have finished up, and we’re starting to see that the end of phase one is in sight 😍 Two more sleeps until we reopen!

Day 1 & 2 of renos are under our belts, and the glow up is going really well. Fingers crossed Mother Nature keeps cooperating so we can finish the new paint job tomorrow 🎨
