The Green Spot

Blooms make me happy.

But I don't always think people understand that when I say blooms, I mean all blooms.

🌸 Flowers
🌾 Grasses
🌳 Trees
🍄 Even some fungi

(And yes, before anyone says anything, I'm not talking about the ones that can absolutely devastate a healthy ecosystem. But you have to admit, some fungi are stunning. Anyway. Back on track.)

The thing is, I obviously have favorites. We all do. Certain colors make me stop and stare. Certain plants somehow find their way into every display I create. And yes, there are a few species I will champion at every opportunity.

But that's just me.

Ask anyone else at the Green Spot and you'll get a different answer. Different favorites. Different styles. Different ideas.

And honestly? That's probably for the best.

I have been known to be wrong on occasion. 😏

Mostly, I just count myself lucky.

Lucky to work alongside people who know so much, care so much, and are constantly teaching me new things. People whose creativity, knowledge, and talent make this place what it is.

Because if I'm being honest, I'm not the real talent here.

I just get the privilege of talking about the truly impressive people I work with and showing off the things they do.

Did this post wander off into the weeds somewhere along the way?

Absolutely.

Am I surprised?

Not even a little. 🌿✨

Not because they're current.

Not because they haven't changed.

But because every single time I sit down to post photos of them, someone comes along and tells me the displays have been rearranged, refreshed, improved, or completely transformed. 😏

Honestly? I'm not even mad about it.

One of my favorite things about the Perennial House is that it's always evolving. Different plants, different combinations, different little surprises tucked into corners where you weren't expecting them.

It means no two visits are exactly the same.

So consider these photos a snapshot in time. A reminder that around here, if you see something you love, be sure to enjoy it while it's there.

Because chances are, by the next time you stop in, there'll be something new to discover. 💛🌿

With temperatures climbing and the greenhouse expected to get uncomfortably hot, we'll be closing early at 2:00 PM today.

Your safety is important to us, and when the greenhouse starts feeling more like a sauna than a shopping destination, it's time to call it a day. 😅
