Winter tire tips
Here’s some tips for checking the condition of your winter tires to get you through the season.

All season tires are not ideal in temperatures below 7 degrees as the rubber hardness increases, braking time increased and you will feel a difference in traction.

While winter tires are not mandatory here in Ontario most insurance companies offer winter tire discounts.

Check for weathercracking in the sidewalls and in the grooves between the treads,
Look for cuts , nails or damage to the sidewalls and treads

Transport Canada recommends replacing your winter tires when they are at 5/32 tread or less, the deeper the tread the better the ability of the tire to claw through sleet and snow
