City of Brantford and Wilfrid Laurier University celebrate Community Changemakers The City of Brantford and Wilfrid Laurier University StartUp Lab Brantford celebrated the conclusion of the fall 2025 Community Changemakers program on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, after a successful a project pitch competition held the previous week.

One week left to register for the exclusive Community Changemaker program!
This free 7-week program is open to Brantford residents aged 18 and over who are interested in creating positive change in their community. Sessions will run on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm at the Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford campus, starting on October 8, 2025. Each session will be led by an experienced professional in community innovation. You'll learn how to refine your idea, create a project proposal, build a budget, prepare a presentation and have the opportunity to pitch your idea for possible funding.

Are you someone who wants to cultivate belonging in the City of Brantford? Individuals or groups are invited to register for the Community Changemakers Program, a free six-week course beginning Thursday, October 17 and runs every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford Campus.
This program focuses on community development topics such as project management, budgeting, marketing, evaluation and sustainability planning, and will also incorporate presentations from local experts and in-class mentorship to help develop ideas based on:
â—¾ Creating cultural associations
â—¾ Safer-spaces projects
â—¾ Events or campaigns to support intercultural learning
â—¾ Anti-hate awareness campaigns
â—¾ Allyship information or resources
