I just love virtual spaces like this ๐Ÿ’•

Happy Pride Month from the Healthy Navajo K'รฉ team!
We are excited to announce our very first virtual Talking Circle this month in honor of Maternal Mental Health Awareness month this past May.

Please come join us on Saturday, June 27th from 10 AM - 12:30 PM MST on Zoom for our "Dinรฉ Perinatal Mental Health Circle: Centering the stories of lived experience, kinship care, and journeys of healing."

This family-centered virtual circle will offer a presentation on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), cultural teachings in congruence with mental wellness, ways to support healing and emotional health, and more! Following the presentation, we will open the space up for participants to share if they feel called to.

We are here to honor the stories of our circle as we share with open, compassionate, and supportive conversations about perinatal mental health and caring for ourselves in relation to our teachings of Hรณzhรณ. Parents and families need evidence-based education, community, kinship, and empowerment and that is what the Dinรฉ Perinatal Mental Health Circle provides.
We hope to see you there!

After birth, your body is doing a lot of healing and that means your nutrient needs matter more than ever ๐Ÿค

Low levels of key nutrients can show up as fatigue, mood changes, brain fog, or slow recovery.

Taking care of yourself is part of taking care of your baby. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿผ

If youโ€™ve been feeling โ€œoff,โ€ it might be worth checking in with your provider about these common deficiencies.

Reminder, you can ALWAYS ask questions.

Unlike the ridiculous legal fight of a Florida woman, most facilities will accept your autonomy - even if there's some pushback.

Discussion and respect is how we have safe birth without unnecessary trauma. Doctors, midwives, nurses who practice with respect will have these conversations with you to help you make informed decisions and understand if there's a true medical concern.

What questions did you ask in labor?
