Tea time after lunch with friends 🍵

Even though I was full, there's always room for dessert! In Japan, we call this "Betsu-bara" (separate stomach) 😋
The little black strips on the side are "Shio-kombu" (salted kelp). It works as a perfect palate cleanser.
Sweet mochi soup, then salty kelp... This "Sweet & Salty" loop is just pure happiness 💕 Such a cozy and warming treat.
お腹いっぱい食べたはずなのに… やっぱり「甘いものは別腹」ですね。
右下にあるのは、塩昆布(しおこんぶ)。
これが絶妙な「箸休め(Hashiyasume)」になるんです。
とろとろのお餅と、しょっぱい昆布。 甘い、しょっぱい、甘い…の繰り返しが幸せ心も体も温まりました。
