APICS BCIT Student Chapter

It was a pleasure to be in attendance and represent the APICS BCIT Student Chapter at the APICS summit, and listen to a lineup of speakers who carry a wealth of knowledge greatly relative to our studies as Business Operations Management students. The event was both a fantastic learning and networking opportunity.

As the school year is coming to a close - we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the fun times we had.

We hosted 4 tours with SPUD.ca, London Drugs, Purdys Chocolatier and Lush Cosmetics North America. Each of these companies gave us a behind the scenes look at what challenges they are overcoming and innovations they have adapted to their businesses.

We attended numerous industry events, including RIchard Ranftl's presentation at APICS Fraser Valley Chapter.

Finally, our very own BCIT School of Business Business Operations Management students presented their award-winning projects which were hosted at Paris Orthotics, Electra Meccanica & SPUD.ca.

Congratulations on another successful year BCIT Business Operations Management Students!

Physically seeing the processing plant for London Drugs shows how product flow is optimized. Many of the concepts found in the classroom such as process flow-charts and order picking techniques can be observed and can complement your understanding of operations management techniques.
