We're excited to announce the addition of ELLIE GREEN (MC, RCC) to our wonderful counselling team at Forge. She believes that a successful therapeutic relationship is one built on connection, rapport and a sense of togetherness. Using multiple forms of therapy and approaches, Ellie works hard to create a refuge free of judgement for her clients, giving them agency to safely tap into their own resilience and steer their journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. Having owned a thriving childcare centre for over twenty years, Ellie's intimate knowledge of the intricate dynamics of young families has been instrumental in her current practice where she is deeply passionate about helping her clients navigate the diverse experiences that come with different kinds of parenting relationships and family structures.

We join many others on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in wearing orange and to listen, learn and reflect on the histories and legacies of the residential school systems in Canada, to amplify the voices of all survivors and transgenerational survivors and all communities affected, and to honour those who never made it home.

We pledge our continued commitment to responding in a meaningful way to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 92nd call to action with our annual Forge Health Bursary in Kinesiology. We recognize that there is more that can be done and we will continue to find ways to implement reconciliation into our healthcare practices.

Today and everyday, we recognize that we work and practice on the ancestral and unceded homelands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples and are grateful to be on this territory.

We're delighted to introduce Gavin Larsen to the Forgefam! 💚

Gavin is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner (R.TCM.P). His journey began when, as a child, his insomnia and childhood eczema were cured with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He formed a strong passion to study and share this healing potential with his family and community and since then, has acquired many methods of treatment to address the psyche, to tend acute and chronic pain patterns, and to accurately diagnose and treat internal ailments.

With extensive experience as a TCM instructor at Pacific Rim College, he holds great value in educating clients in ways that are accessible and empowering. He is highly attentive to every client, practicing with a broad range of tools built on a strong foundation of classical training and years of study and practice, to ensure optimal methods are applied to each unique concern.

Earlier this year, he travelled to Nepal with his wife to volunteer as practitioners and educators for the Acupuncture Relief Project. While there, he had the opportunity to share his knowledge and skills to treat complex health conditions such as stroke rehabilitation, and teach new methods of treatment to local acupuncturists at the regional health post.
