The Union Protein Project
The Union Protein Project (formerly Protein for People) is a non-profit society started in 2006
We gave our guests one task before they walked out the door: donate a case of tuna in your community.
Here's what that looked like❤️

Thank you Mike for attending our 20th anniversary on Tuesday. PSAC has been a longstanding supporter of ours and we are so grateful for the continued support 🫶🏽

What a night! 🎉
On Tuesday, we gathered to celebrate 20 years of the Union Protein Project and what a milestone it was to mark together.
A huge thank you to USW Local 2009 for opening their hall to us and to their incredible volunteers who helped make the evening so awesome. We also can't say enough about the volunteers from USW District 3 and SOAR. Thank you for always showing up when we need you ❤️
This whole evening was a collective effort and we thank all that helped make it come to life.
A very special moment of the evening was having John and Mervyn join us. These two started the Union Protein Project 20 years ago, and having them in the room and hearing from them made the night truly meaningful. We are so grateful they were there.
We were also so happy to have Sally Lyons from Sources Community Resource Centres there to speak to our supporters about the awesome work they do, what challenges people are currently facing, how they are helping those in the Langley community. We look forward to working together in the future.
A HUGE thank you to Ritz Catering for feeding us so well! It was an absolute pleasure working with them and can't recommend them enough.
Thank you to Raj Khunkhun and Peter Radonjic from Community Savings Credit Union Burnaby branch for joining us and their support. Community Savings donated $4000 to the UPP that night and announced a new initiative to further support our project. Members who switch their payroll to Community Savings walk away with $200 in their pocket, and Community Savings will donate $200 to UPP on top of it! How incredible is that?! More info coming soon 👀
To Lisa Llangan (UFCW) and Sean Parkinson (FPSE), thank you for all that you have done for our organization while sitting on our Board. All the time and effort is truly appreciated. 🫶🏽We are excited to welcome Doris Mah (UFCW) onto our Executive Board and have no doubt she will help grow this project.
To all of our supporters, thank you. UPP is a non-profit that relies on donations and community support to do what we do, and we don't take that lightly. Your belief in this work, year after year, means everything to us. It is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together to help our communities. Showing up to support us meant the world. Here's to the next 20 years! ❤️
Check out these awesome photos by Wendy D Photography. Thank you for capturing our night. I'm sure we will be looking back at these at our next anniversary celebration!
