215 Strathcona Scouts

Our Howler Cubs visited some seniors last week. They split up and played games with some residents at Prominence Way Retirement Community. The Cubs brought some of their favourite games and taught the Seniors how to play Guess Who? And Uno (which we explained is a staple at all our camps).

Our Howlers (+ a scout) represented 215 well and the Seniors all enjoyed their games night. Lots of smiles all around. 😊😊

Our littlest members were out this weekend to sell baked goods. As part of their North Star award, they are trying to raise money for the . Way to go, White tails!!! 🦫

In Scouting, we often talk about being “youth-led.” But what does that actually look like? It looks like this!

One of our Cubs, Moses, has a passion for fencing. He brought the “spark”—the idea to share his sport with his friends. We were able to coordinate with to turn that spark into a reality.

The best part? In the 3 separate classes held this week, Moses was there for each of them and he took the lead. He worked alongside the phenomenal instructors (including Olympian ) to:
🤺 Demonstrate the basic stances and moves.
🛡️ Help his fellow Cubs fit their safety equipment.
🤝 Spar with his friends, sharing his expertise firsthand.

When we let youth lead, they don’t just learn a new skill—they learn how to share their passions and lead their peers. A huge thank you to Moses for the inspiration and to the phenomenal instructors for this fun and unique experience for our Cubs. 🤺🙏❤️
